Spiritual Sabatuers

In the past much of this blog emphasized the use of EFT in  overcome pornography addiction. However, I have found that addressing the dark spiritual element of pornography helps addicts recover even faster

The truth is that people who struggle with pornography addiction are not alone, there are other spirits contributing to their addiction. This idea first crossed my mind when I remembered in a book I read many years ago titled “Return From Tomorrow.” In this book the author recounts a near death experience, and in his after-life tour he went into a bar that served alcoholic beverages. He said the bar was full of spirits craving alcohol. These were the spirits of people who had lived and died craving alcohol. Once their physical body was dead, their spirit body still craved the sensation of alcohol. They were frustrated that they could not get to the drinks in the bar. When ever they could, these spirits would use the body of a living person to try and experience the sensation of alcohol.

When I started helping pornography addicts with EFT, I wondered if there were spirits of people who had lived and died craving pornography and sex contributing to the problem. So, I had a few clients think of a pornographic image, and tell me on a scale of 0-10 how aroused or excited they were about the image. Typically they gave me a number like 7 or 8. I then had them command in the name of Jesus Christ who suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane, any satanic spirits (spirits that had never had a body) or unclean spirits (spirits of people who used to have a body) that were contributing to the craving to be dismissed, and replaced with God’s light and love and any positive spiritual gift they needed. I found that nearly every time they did this, their craving dropped dramatically. Where before they may have reported an 8, they would usually say something between a 2 and a 4. This told us that a significant amount of the craving they were feeling wasn’t even their own.

This is very real, this is profound. If you struggle with pornography addiction, you are not in this alone. You need Christ’s help to break free of the spirits that have enslaved you, that use you like a puppet to satisfy their own insatiable lusts.

I recently had a man I was helping picture a pornographic image in his mind, he reported arousal was about an 8. I coached him through the process of commanding spirits to leave in the name of Christ. His arousal at the image dropped to about a 6. I then asked him what it was about the image that was still arousing. He said it was her breasts. So, I asked him to command in the name of Christ the spirits to leave that were excited about the women’s breasts, or were contributing to his excitement about the women’s breasts. As he pictured the image in his mind again, the arousal had dropped to a 4. I asked him what was exciting about it now. He said it was the thrill of getting away with it, seeing something he wasn’t supposed to. So, I asked him to command spirits to leave that were contributing to this thrill. Then again he pictured the image, and the arousal dropped to around a 3. I asked him again what was exciting about the image, and he said the thought popped into his head, “No one can tell me I can’t look at this, I’m not going to let someone tell me what to do. I am going to look at this because I can.” I had him take the exact phrase he gave me, and he commanded the spirit to leave that was saying these things.  He pictured the image again, now there was no craving, no arousal, he felt distaste when he viewed the image that had been so arousing, he felt sad for the girl in the picture.

So, as he pinpointed exactly what these spirits were doing, they had to leave when he used Christ’s name. I don’t know why they don’t just all go the first time, but they are not willingly cooperative. It seems we have to really pinpoint them, not leave them any loopholes, to get them out of there. This can be so empowering.  If an addict will try this every time he feels the slightest pull towards pornography, and turn to Christ in every thought, he will have the power to stay clean. Pornography doesn’t have to be a lifelong problem. The atonement of Christ is enough to completely heal anything, even pornography addiction.
