There are some things that are just wrong

There are many that say pornography is only bad if you think it is bad. They tell themselves it isn’t hurting them, and they aren’t hurting anyone else. Nothing could be further from the truth. There are some things that are just inherently wrong. If we are honest with ourselves, we know that some things are wrong. It is wrong to steal from others. It is wrong to lie, to deceive. Everyone instinctively knows this is true. It is wrong to murder. It is wrong to kidnap and abuse a child. Slavery is wrong.  These things don’t become ok just because we feel like it, or we think it is to our advantage. Some things are just wrong. Pornography is one of them.

When I was 9 years old we lived in Las Vegas. I remember my mom giving me some money and telling me to walk over to the barber shop to get a haircut. A few of the neighbor kids tagged along. As I sat in the barber chair getting my hair cut, the boys that had come along were looking at magazines on a coffee table. I heard them making comments about something they were looking at, and somehow I knew it was pornographic. I don’t remember my mom telling me not to view pornography, but as I sat there in the barber chair I had a weird feeling in my stomach, that feeling that something wasn’t right. I just knew that what they were looking at wasn’t right, and it turned my stomach. I don’t know how I knew… kind of like no one ever told me it was wrong to murder, I just knew. We all have that inner light that tells us what is wrong and right, and if we are honest with ourselves, and don’t smother the light, we know pornography is just wrong.  Please have the courage, the character, to be true to the light that is within you!
