You are not alone!

In our efforts to be successful in this life, we are not alone. Especially as a person works to overcome addiction, that person isn’t alone. We aren’t meant to work through the challenges of this life alone.

There is an account from the Old Testament where the prophet Elisha is in a predicament where it appeared he was seriously out numbered. His servant was very concerned about the situation, but Elisha had the spiritual perception to see what others could not see:

Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about. And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. – 2 Kings 6:14-17

This account shows us that we are not alone in this world. This prophet was able to see the armies of heaven that were there to help him. It isn’t just ancient prophets that can have heavens help, it is available to all of us. Heavens help can come in many forms. It can come from loving, supportive people around us. It can come in the form of inspiration when sudden strokes of thought suddenly come to mind. It can come in the form of inspiring music, or inspired words from a book. It can also come in the form of unseen angels that are very real, despite being unseen. We can pray for these angels, ask God to protect us and strengthen us with these angels. I have no doubt that they are real, and can play a real role in your life.

The other day I was coaching a man on how to remove dark spirits that were playing a role in his addictive cravings (If you haven’t read the post “Why you can’t stop”, be sure to read that so you can see the role these dark spirits are playing. click here to view that post ). As I coached him through that process, he said he felt a significant drop in his craving level; but he was also a bit shaken up because he said he could hear these spirits screaming in anger and rage at being sent away. He was fearful that these spirits would seek revenge in his life. It is very rare that a person tells me they hear or see something in the world of spirits, but it does happen occasionally. Being in the world of spirits are just as real as you are.  I encouraged this man to say a short prayer, asking for and seeing in his minds eye angels of light, authorized by Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace, to surround him and protect him and his family. He did so, and felt a peace come over him. He said that he felt safe. I believe he was literally surrounded by angels, just as Elisha was. He was not alone. When we feel alone, we are believing Satan’s lie, for the truth is we’ve never been alone. Being alone is an illusion due to our limited ability to see what is real.

Don’t hesitate to pray and ask for angels, authorized by Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace, to help you in your endeavors. These angels are eager to help us, but they never infringe on our agency. They honor the choices we make, whether we make the right choice or not. As we ask for their help, we are giving them permission to assist us. Satan and his group don’t wait for permission, they do all they can to hijack our agency, to limit us in every way possible. We don’t need to fear this, we just need to be aware of this, and draw on the powers of heaven that can free us, protect us, and strengthen us. We are not alone, there is great reason to hope. God sent us here to be successful. He didn’t send us here to have a life free of adversity, rather he allows the adversity because he knows we need it for our personal growth. If everything was easy and pleasurable, there would be no personal progression. In the face of adversity He wants us to be successful. As we petition for heaven’s help it will be there in the way that is best for our personal growth. Not every prayer will result in immediate relief, because if every challenge and discomfort was immediately whisked away, what would we ever become? How could we ever learn? If every math problem put in front of a student was immediately answered before the student had to work at, the student would never learn. So it is in everything. We can trust as we petition for heaven’s help, it will come in the best way for us, at the best time for us.

If you ever feel alone, isolated, stuck, trapped, or overwhelmed in your challenges, please remember that YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Heaven’s help is real, and because of the mercy of Christ you can be delivered.
