It’s working

Here are a couple of emails I received from someone I was coaching who had a problem with porn…. But not any more. It puts a smile on my face when people tell what used to be a struggle is no longer a struggle. Of course the credit goes to God, but it is rewarding to be part of the process.

Hi Arden,
Hope you’ve been well!
Just wanted to say hi and send a quick update. Overall I’ve been very happy with my progress. I’ve had a few brief relapses over the past few months but much better than in the past. When I look at the last 6 month stretch vs. any 6 month stretch before we started EFT back in April it’s a night and day improvement. The urges are way down and manageable 99.9% of the time.
EFT has also been helpful in other areas. I just had a pretty tough breakup last week with a girl I had been dating for a couple months. For a couple days I almost entirely lost my appetite, had a hard time getting out of bed and doing basic things. I was worried I was sinking into a state of depression.
This is when I decided to give EFT a shot. I did about 30 mins of tapping myself and came out of that session actually feeling good for the first time in days. I also did some tapping with guided YouTube videos. EFT was a real game-changer here as it’s also been with breaking through porn addiction.

So I wanted to thank you for giving me this skill that’s let me significantly improve my life.

Hi Arden,
I hope you’ve been well. Things have been going great for me. My urges have pretty much been at zero and in the rare moments they’ve come up, I’ve applied EFT or other techniques to deal with them. So I’m feeling really good about things, and after putting a lot of thought into it, I think for now I don’t need to do any EFT sessions.

I’ll definitely let you know if/when I decide more sessions would be a good idea, and regardless I very much look forward to staying in touch. I am deeply grateful for all your help. Before we started in April I was stuck in a constant relapse cycle and I questioned whether I’d ever get out. While there’s certainly more progress to be made, I don’t feel like it’s an uphill battle anymore and I feel the most hope and optimism I’ve felt since I first made an effort to quit porn in 2009. I expect this to my first summer free of porn since 1999 when I was 12.

Because EFT has been a game-changer for me, I want to make sure other guys try it out too. I mentioned EFT on one of the forums I go on and when I get a bit further along in having been clean for a while and have more credibility, I will recommend your practice to a wider crowd and hopefully will convince some guys to try out EFT with you.
